Our Story

In January of 2018, after many years of consideration and prayer, a group of concerned citizens came together with a vision to found a non-profit, Christ-centered school to serve Kinston’s under-resourced children.

Hope Preparatory School provides an alternative for parents who want a choice in how they educate their children but who are unable to afford a private Christian education. Hope Prep offers an excellent, classical Christian education in a safe, diverse, and nurturing setting while working hand in hand with parents to educate their children. The school relies on community partnerships in order to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Our hope is that the ministry of our school will tear down walls that separate us socially, economically, racially, and politically to foster a spirit of gospel harmony in our city. Will you join us?

Spreading Hope Network, a ministry birthed out of Hope Academy in Minneapolis, MN, has selected Hope Prep as one of its Founder schools for mentoring and assistance.
